İÇTAŞ Energy Generation and Trade Inc., founded in 1998 under the İBRAHİM ÇEÇEN Investment Holding, is established to engage in the encouraging energy sector. İÇTAŞ Energy's objective is to be active in all kinds of energy business including electricity, gas, coal or others as developer, producer, transmitter, supplier or distributor in its home market, in Turkey and overseas. In the past 4 years since its foundation, İÇTAŞ Energy succeeded to develope and commission 2 power plants, one of which is hydro and the other one is a diesel power plant, while started the engineering studies of another hydroelectric power plant to be commissioned in 2004. 12.3 MW Girlevik II-Mercan HEPP has been developed as BOT project and commissioned on March, 2001. The plant will be operated by İÇTAŞ Energy for a period of 20 years. 28.8 MW Isparta Mobile Power Plant has been built in accordance with the agreement signed with Electricity Generation Inc. (EÜAŞ) and commissioned on October, 2001. The plant will be operated by İÇTAŞ Energy. 14 MW Yukarı Mercan HEPP has been developed as autoproducer scheme and programmed for commissioning in 2004.
